Well, this has certainly been a week for trailers, hasn’t it? This week alone we have received new trailers for MAN OF STEEL, OBLIVION, THE LONE RANGER and AFTER EARTH. Well, now you can add PACIFIC RIM to that list as the highly anticipated Guillermo del Toro film finally releases its first trailer and boy does it not disappoint. This is Guillermo del Toro on skyscraper size steroids.
In addition to the trailer, we also have a brand new poster and banner for the film, and in case you haven’t seen them, we also have 5 high definition blueprints of the Jaegers. Jaegers are giant robots that are piloted by 2-3 pilots via a neural link. These Jaegers are extremely large and are man-kinds way of battling enormous beasts, called Kaiju, that have entered our world via a portal in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It’s a high-tech concept that feels like it has roots in the old monster films like GODZILLA, KING KONG and even old T.V. shows like ULTRAMAN.
