It’s safe to say Sci-Fi movie fans have a lot to look forward to in the next few years. With ENDER’S GAME, ELYSIUM, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, PACIFIC RIM, ROBOT AND FRANK, THE WORLD’S END, EURPOPA REPORT, AFTER EARTH, GRAVITY and even a new STAR WARS movie on the way, it appears Hollywood is giving us geeks a lot to be thankful for. One of the projects that’s of great interest to us is the Tom Cruise vehicle OBLIVION, which comes from director Joe Kosinski (TRON: LEGACY), who started work on this project five years ago. The supporting cast includes Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Andrea Riseborough, Zoe Bell, and Melissa Leo. Check out the new teaser poster above, and the teaser trailer below, which looks filled with sleek technology and cool settings. This is my kind of flick, though the trailer does a good job of not showing too much. It’s to be expected many will draw comparisons to I AM LEGEND, and you can’t help but notice the fact that Cruise appears to be roaming the desolate Earth with a dog just like Will Smith did (well, maybe that dog is just a stray in this one). Regardless, this looks very much worth a look. Check it out and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Tom Cruise stars in Oblivion, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

OBLIVION opens April 12, 2013
