Video Interview: SHELTER director Ric Roman Waugh, on crafting the new Jason Statham thriller

The new Jason Statham action thriller SHELTER hits theaters this weekend, and I was actually scheduled to host a special Q&A in Dallas with director Ric Roman Waugh last Friday, but the crazy winter weather decided to ruin our plans. Thankfully, the fine folks at Allied Integrated Marketing were able to set up a ZOOM call for Ric and I, so I was still able to chat with him about the film. Fans of Statham and action movies are likely to love this new offering, and Waugh certainly knows how to deliver entertaining and exciting films – his past efforts have included ANGEL HAS FALLEN, GREENLAND 1 and 2, KANDAHAR, SNITCH and more. He’s also a former stunt man with credits in classics like THEY LIVE, ROAD HOUSE, LETHAL WEAPON 2, TANGO & CASH, TOTAL RECALL, DAYS OF THUNDER, HOOK, THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS, TRUE ROMANCE, THE CROW, GONE IN 60 SECONDS, and THE ONE… to name a few. Check out my video interview with Ric, and look for SHELTER this weekend in theaters across the country.

SHELTER opens January 30, 2026
