Brett Ratner is one of those directors who is easy to throw hate at, though some forget he’s made some very successful films, particularly in the comedy department. He even produced the recent HORRIBLE BOSSES, which I loved every second of. I actually find myself split down the middle on Ratner’s projects when looking over his IMDB credits – for example I liked AFTER THE SUNSET and at least the first RUSH HOUR, but like many was let down by the RUSH HOUR sequels and of course X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. Brett’s newest directorial gig is on TOWER HEIST, which would look like a direct-to-DVD mess if not for the impressive ensemble cast. Ben Stiller looks to be the lead, with Eddie Murphy playing throwback sort of character, reminiscent of his role in TRADING PLACES. But with supporting roles including Matthew Broderick, Téa Leoni, Gabourey Sidibe, Casey Affleck, Stephen Henderson, Judd Hirsch, Michael Pena, and the great Alan Alda, this may just be a whole lot of fun. The plot revolves around workers at a luxury Central Park condominium, who discover the penthouse billionaire has stolen their retirement. They plot the ultimate revenge: a heist to reclaim what he took from them.

There’s some funny stuff in here, and I imagine it will be a pretty entertaining flick, but Good Lord that poster is awful.  Poor Michael Pena is smaller than everyone else, and obviously pasted in at the last second.  He deserves better.  I sincerely hope they come up with something better, though the November release date is just around the corner.  Take a look at the trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
