I love me some Steven Spielberg, and I’ll honestly watch just about anything the man is involved in with great interest. That said, I must admit I’m not terribly excited about his latest project, THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN, based on the classic European sensation. Perhaps it’s the idea of Spielberg going down the motion capture road, which Robert Zemeckis has already been down a few too many times. Oddly enough, I don’t know ANYONE that is all that crazy about mocap technology, and most people seem to find it off-putting and emotionless. The most recent mocap film, MARS NEEDS MOMS, was a horrible failure at the box office, and the last I heard Zemeckis’ mocap production house was getting shut down… at least that’s what I heard. But, if anyone can make this technology work, it’s Spielberg. I have faith in the man, and I can say everything I’ve seen from TINTIN so far looks pretty cool. Plus Peter Jackson is producing, so that’s added incentive. The lighting on display in the teaser trailers below is stunning. Check out the two posters for the film first, one above and one below.
You can see the two teaser trailers underneath. Note, the teasers are almost identical, save for the beginning of each, in which you’ll notice some rather different shots. Check it out for yourself and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
