WIN WIN trailer and theatrical poster – Paul Giamatti wrestles with a young man’s emotions

Paul Giamatti isn’t slowing down these days, cranking out quite a few interesting films.  One that’s getting a lot of attention, thanks to its successful presence at the Sundance Film Festival, is director Tom McCarthy’s WIN WIN.  McCarthy is the man responsible for films like THE VISITOR and THE STATION AGENT.  Outside of Giamatti, WIN WIN also features a terrific supporting cast, including Amy Ryan, Jeffrey Tambor, Bobby Cannavale, and Melanie Lynskey.  Watching the trailer it’s easy to say we’ve seen Paul play these kinds of characters before, but check it out for yourself and tell me you’re not interested in this portrayal.  It looks like more Giamatti greatness, and the film itself looks terrific.  You can see WIN WIN at this year’s South by Southwest Film Festival – more info at http://sxsw.com

Synopsis: Tom McCarthy, acclaimed writer/ director of THE VISITOR and THE STATION AGENT, once again explores the depths and nuances of human relationships in his new film about the allegiances and bonds between unlikely characters. Disheartened attorney Mike Flaherty (Paul Giamatti), who moonlights as a high school wrestling coach, stumbles across a star athlete through some questionable business dealings while trying to support his family. Just as it looks like he will get a double payday, the boy’s mother shows up fresh from rehab and flat broke, threatening to derail everything. McCarthy’s deft touch with balancing drama and comedy, broken hearts and poignant humanity is at play in WIN WIN.

WIN WIN opens March 18, 2011
