A few new movie posters this week worthy of note. First up, the fourth installment of the SCREAM franchise, SCREAM 4, also known as SCRE4M. Wes Craven directs with Kevin Williamson returning to screenwriting chores. The film features Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Nico Tortorella, Marielle Jaffe, Marley Shelton, Mary McDonnell, Adam Brody, Anthony Anderson, Alison Brie, Erik Knudsen, and Roger Jackson as the voice of Ghostface.
The plot from IMDB: Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately, Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.
.
Next is BRIDESMAIDS, a comedy centered on two women battling to plan their friend’s wedding party. The film features Rose Byrne, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper, Chris O’Dowd, Maya Rudolph, Matt Lucas, Jill Clayburgh, and RENO 911!‘s Wendi McLendon-Covey. It’s directed by Paul Feig (who helmed several episodes of THE OFFICE) and is produced by Judd Apatow. The movie opens May 13, 2011.
.
And last but not least is CHROMESKULL: LAID TO REST II, the sequel to director Rob Hall’s fan favorite horror film LAID TO REST. Now if you’ve seen LAID TO REST, and I have, I’m very curious how they’re going to bring back this guy. I’m also a fan of Hall’s movie, so I’m looking forward to this with great interest. The cast includes Thomas Dekker, Brian Austin Green, Gail O’Grady, Danielle Harris, Johnathan Schaech, and Angelina Armani.
The synopsis on IMDB states: “ChromeSkull” is the sequel to the 2009 horror hit “Laid to Rest.” It brings back ChromeSkull, who barely escaped death in the first movie and is hell-bent on continuing where he left off… and forging a new path of terror and destruction.
Check out the trailer below, which premiered on Bloody-Disgusting last week.
A sequel to LAID TO REST? Really? Ah, well, perhaps it will make the first one make a bit more sense.
