Granted, this is not typically the kind of trailer we’d post on here, but sometimes a film comes along that is impressive-looking, if for no other reason that the cast. New Film Cinema’s FLYING LESSONS stars Maggie Grace, who to date hasn’t received (in our minds) a proper vehicle to really show her range. Yes, yes, yes we all know she was annoying in TAKEN, but she was playing a girl much younger than she really is, so I think the point was for her to act immature. However, her performance in FASTER gave me hope that maybe there’s a lot more to Maggie than anyone has seen yet. In this new film from director Derek Magyar she shares the screen with the great Hal Holbrook, who I think should have won the Oscar from work on INTO THE WILD, plus Oscar winner Christine Lahti, Jonathan Tucker, and a long-haired Cary Elwes. This looks like one of those deep and emotional family dramas, but with a cast like this should definitely be worth a look. Check out the poster above and the trailer below, and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

FLYING LESSONS opens in 2011 – no specific release date announced yet
