Big news for Texas-based comic book fans today.  The long-running fan-favorite Dallas Comic Con is making a big move in 2011, specifically to the brand new architecturally stunning Irving Convention Center. Located in beautiful Las Colinas, the facility features close to 100,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space, covering 40 acres of land. This convention center is one of the most impressive structures ever to hit the DFW area, and the perfect place to host the Dallas Comic Con as it grows to new levels of awesomeness. Yes, awesomeness.

Palmiotti and Conner

And what better way to kick of this awesome announcement? Try giant industry names like the legendary Stan Lee (creator of SPIDER-MAN, FANTASTIC FOUR, THE INCREDIBLE HULK and other popular Marvel titles) and the always fascinating Leonard Nimoy (STAR TREK‘s Spock in one of his last scheduled con appearances). They’ll be joined by comic book luminaries such as Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Mitch and Elizabeth Breitweiser, Tim Bradstreet, and many more.  Also look for the bigger and more exciting Bigfanboy.com promo booth to make an appearance there as well.  In the meantime, check out the Women of Sci-Fi event at the Plano Centre in January 29-30, featuring BATTLESTAR GALACTICA‘s Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackhoff, STAR TREK‘s Nichelle Nichols, and many more lovely ladies of sci-fi fandom.  This will definitely be the biggest and most exciting Dallas Comic Con ever held.  For all the latest information and guest updates, visit the official website – the Dallas Comic Con will be held on May 21-22, 2011.
