Trailer and poster for Jodie Foster’s THE BEAVER starring Mel Gibson

Okay, we all know the Mel Gibson isn’t held in the highest regard with many right now, and his personal life actions are pretty unforgivable and unforgettable… that’s a given… BUT does that change the fact that he’s always been a fantastic actor, and someone that gives 110%  on screen with every single role?  I’ve even asked the question before, “Can we no longer enjoy any of Mel Gibson’s past work because of his present actions?”  I mean seriously, I can’t enjoy MAD MAX now?  I have to tear up my LETHAL WEAPON poster?  You’re telling me the almost universal love is BRAVEHEART is now meaningless?  I guess at some point you have to make the decision on whether or not to hate the man forever, or move on and see what else he can do.  Mel’s last film EDGE OF DARKNESS was a decent revenge thriller, but didn’t seem to wow audiences the way we all hoped it would, especially after his long absence in front of the camera.  His newest film THE BEAVER, which co-stars and is directed by Jodie Foster, was put on hold by Summit Entertainment as a result of Gibson’s controversial actions several months back.  Now it’s finally got a poster (shown above) and trailer (shown below), and like Foster herself has been saying before now, it looks rather good.  The question of course is whether or not audiences will be willing to accept Mel Gibson back on the big screen.  The story is also an interesting (and surely unintentional) parallel to Gibson’s own life, playing a man who screws up in life and must find a way to get things back on track.  How do you feel about the film?  Tell us in the comments at the bottom.

Synopsis: Two-time Academy Award(R) winner Jodie Foster directs and co-stars with two-time Academy Award(R) winner Mel Gibson in THE BEAVER – an emotional story about a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life. Plagued by his own demons, Walter Black was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track…until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.
