PURE COUNTRY 2: THE GIFT press conference video with Dean Cain, Katrina Elam and Christopher Cain

In 1992 director Christopher Cain released PURE COUNTRY, starring country music legend George Strait in his first and (until now) last acting role. The film received great critical response, and has developed a cult following through the years, particularly with country music enthusiasts. This weekend PURE COUNTRY 2: THE GIFT opens, passing the torch to country’s newest prodigy Katrina Elam, who has a voice that commands attention and a presence that is immediately endearing. George Strait is along for the ride too, reuniting with Chris Cain after 18 years away from acting… however, this time George is playing himself. Christopher Cain and his son Dean Cain (yes, former Superman) co-wrote the screenplay, which has taken a while to bring to the big screen. They recently appeared in Dallas to promote the film and hold a press conference. I attended with other local press, and got a chance to ask the trio questions about working on the new film, and their personal feelings toward film production these days, and the perils of becoming famous. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments below.  The video is of the full press conference, 30 minutes, and I apologize for the low quality, but it was the only way to get the whole thing filmed.
