THE WALKING DEAD San Diego Comic-Con trailer officially hits the net

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, some of the biggest buzz came from the showing of footage from Frank (THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION) Darabont’s TV adaptation to Robert Kirkman’s hit comic book, THE WALKING DEAD.  Before the convention to stomp all other conventions even came to a close, someone had posted a bootleg version of the panel trailer, and despite the crappy quality, people on the web were salivating over how great this thing was looking.  I talked about it a bit on our podcast, noting the most impressive quality is that the footage looks like a big-budget movie… not a TV series.  I’m sure much of that is thanks to Darabont being behind the camera.  AMC is already running great television, with shows like MAD MEN and BREAKING BAD, so THE WALKING DEAD will hopefully find itself a great home on the cable network.  The series features Andrew Lincoln (LOVE ACTUALLY), Jon Bernthal (THE PACIFIC), Sarah Wayne Callies (PRISON BREAK), Laurie Holden (Darabont veteran, THE MIST and THE MAJESTIC), and Emma Bell (FROZEN).  The story revolves around survivors of a zombie apocalypse, who are led by a police officer named Rick Grimes (Lincoln) in hopes of finding safe haven.  Check out the amazing trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
