When we say there was SO much stuff shown at San Diego Comic-Con in the way of trailers and clips, we really mean it.  Chances are just about all of the clips will hit the web this week, but to catch you up a bit, here’s a few highlights, including a teaser for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, PRIEST, DRIVE ANGRY 3-D, and MEGAMIND.

First up, check out Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in this specially-made teaser for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, which is filming now.  I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty let down by the second and third installments of the popular franchise, but I do love seeing Depp in this role.  And it’s pretty cool he took the time to do this little bit of business to promote and build hype for the fourth outing, which promises lots more adventure and swashbuckling… and zombies?  The movie is filming now, and sees the return of Geoffrey Rush, but Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom are absent from the production.  Joining this installment are Ian McShane, Penelope Cruz, and Oscar Jaenada.  NINE director Rob Marshall takes the helm, as Gore Verbinski has stepped down.  These guys have their work cut out for them, but it’s sure to big a big summer movie, so start getting prepared – the film opens May 20, 2011.

Up next is PRIEST. A post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller, is set in an alternate world – one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on a quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills. Also stars Karl Urban and Christopher Plummer.  It opens May 13, 2011.

Next we have DRIVE ANGRY 3-D, starring Nicolas Cage.  This is the newest film from director Patrick Lussier and (our buddy) writer Todd Farmer, who worked together previously on MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D.  The preview (which is rather short and sweet) comes from Bloody Disgusting.  Cage plays a man seeking revenge over the death of his daughter, and her kidnapped baby.  I hear the 3-D is going to be pretty incredible!  Personally, I loved what Lussier was able to do with MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D, so this one is definitely on my radar.  Amber Heard, William Fichtner, and David Morse co-star.  DRIVE ANGRY 3-D opens February 11, 2011… Valentine’s Day.

And finally (for now) we have a new trailer for MEGAMIND, which I’ll warn you gives quite a lot away about the film’s story.  The exclusive Comic-Con teaser doesn’t hold many secrets back, so watch with caution.  Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Brad Pitt, and Jonah Hill head the voice cast, in a CGI-animated film about a super-villain who wants nothing more than to rule the world… then  isn’t sure what to do when he does.  It looks interesting, and pretty funny.  Check it out and see what you think.  MEGAMIND opens November 5, 2010.
