Sam Worthington breaks from big special effects to co-star with Helen Mirren in THE DEBT – new trailer

I am admittedly not much of a fan when it comes to Sam Worthington.  He just seems like a forced product of Hollywood engineering, starring in one giant special effects extravaganza after another.  His big American film debut with TERMINATOR: SALVATION was forgettable at best, his performance in AVATAR was totally lost in all the CGI and 3-D, and CLASH OF THE TITANS didn’t do much to prove any real ability.  But now he has a new film in which he co-stars with Helen Mirren. The plot revolves around three young Israeli Mossad agents in 1965 on a secret mission capture and kill a notorious Nazi war criminal. Now, thirty years later, a man claiming to be the Nazi has surfaced in Ukraine and one of the former agents must go back undercover to seek out the truth.  The movie co-stars Jessica Chastain, the great Ciaran Hinds, the even greater Tom Wilkinson, Martin Csokas, and CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE baddie Jesper Christensen.  This is one of those films that goes back and forth using two different time periods to tell its story.  Could be interesting.  Academy Award-nominated director John Madden (SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE) is at the helm, and the cast certainly makes this one worth a look.  Take a gander at the trailer and tell us what you think.

THE DEBT opens December 29, 2010
