Written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, FRANKENSTEIN is on Netflix this November, starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, with Charles Dance, and Christoph Waltz. This is a highly-anticipated passion project for the beloved filmmaker, and he’s drawing influence visually from legendary comic book artist Bernie Wrightson. For those not in the know, Wrightson’s well-known Frankenstein adaptation made a big impression on artists and filmmakers for decades, depicting Gothic horror in a haunting and highly-detailed way. Guillermo even owned a lot of Bernie’s original art, and I recall talking to him about capturing Bernie’s vision on film way back in 2011. Netflix will be showing FRANKENSTEIN this November, but you can get your first look now with the teaser trailer below. Check it out and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
