28 YEARS LATER trailer – Danny Boyle and Alex Garland return to their horror roots

When 28 DAYS LATER hit theaters in 2002, it became an instant horror classic, launching the career of Cillian Murphy, and solidifying writer Alex Garland and director Danny Boyle as cinematic forces to be reckoned with. It spawned a sequel in 28 WEEKS LATER, and now, finally, we’re getting a second sequel in 28 YEARS LATER, set in the same universe as the first two movies, just a few decades down the line. This outing stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes… and if rumors are true, Cillian Murphy will be seen returning as well, though we don’t really see him in the first trailer. Some are assuming one of the decomposed “zombies” shown here is meant to be him, but we can’t be sure yet. Check out the first look below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

28 YEARS LATER opens June 20, 2025
