THE CREATOR final trailer – John David Washington stars in a Sci-Fi thriller where AI goes bad

As artists and creative types are currently becoming increasingly frustrated over AI and folks using it to “create” oddly derivative work, it seems only fitting that we get a new science fiction movie in which AI is literally trying to kill us. THE CREATOR stars John David Washington (TENET) as a man living in a world where AI designed to protect the human race has surprisingly turned on it… let’s hope this isn’t a looking glass into our own future. Directed by Gareth Edwards (ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY), the cast also includes Ken Watanabe, Gemma Chan, Ralph Ineson, Allison Janney, Benedict Wong, Danny McBride, and introducing Madeleine Yuna Voyles. Check out the very cool final trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Amidst a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence, Joshua (Washington), a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife (Chan), is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war… and mankind itself. Joshua and his team of elite operatives journey across enemy lines, into the dark heart of AI-occupied territory… only to discover the world-ending weapon he’s been instructed to destroy is an AI in the form of a young child.

THE CREATOR opens September 29, 2023
