Of all the cool presentations and trailers released during Disney’s D23 Expo this weekend, one of the most unexpected was that of WEREWOLF BY NIGHT, based on the Marvel Comics of the same name, a character and series that often ran in the same circles as some of the darker heroes, like Moon Knight. But unlike the typical Disney+ series the other Marvel adaptations have received, this is more like a TV movie, even presented in similar fashion to those old TV movie of the week presentations the major networks used to do. Directed by Michael Giacchino and written by Heather Quinn (HAWKEYE), the cast includes Gael García Bernal as Jack Russell / Werewolf by Night, along with Laura Donnelly as Elsa Bloodstone, Harriet Sansom Harris, Eugenie Bondurant, Kirk R. Thatcher and Al Hamacher. I gotta say, I’m loving what I’m seeing here. I just hope the tone stays as dark and seemingly violent of the trailer would indicate. Take a look and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
Marvel Studios’ Special Presentation: WEREWOLF BY NIGHT is streaming October 7, 2022 only on Disney+.
