THIRTEEN LIVES trailer – Ron Howard dramatically shows the Tham Luang cave rescue from 2018

The Tham Luang cave rescue from 2018 serves as the subject of Ron Howard’s new film THIRTEEN LIVES, which stars Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, and Joel Edgerton. If you’re not familiar with the real story, four years ago, twelve children that were part of a Thai soccer team and one of their coaches found themselves trapped in a cave that was flooded, and were stuck there for 18 days waiting for rescue. It was all over the news and incredibly distressing, as one might expect considering the circumstances. This also served as the subject of a documentary in 2021 called THE RESCUE by filmmakers Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin. Check out the trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

THIRTEEN LIVES hits theaters on July 29, 2022 followed by Prime Video on August 5, 2022
