SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY trailer – LeBron James joins Looney Tunes characters for an epic game

If you hit the theater in 1996 to see SPACE JAM, you experienced a surprise hit that paired classic Looney Tunes cartoon characters with Basketball legend Michael Jordan, a blend of animation and live action done not too different from WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?, although with a much more modern and at times futuristic flare. Now, the SPACE JAM concept is back, this time putting LeBron James in the lead. And unlike Jordan, James has already proven himself as both an actor and someone capable of handling comedy thanks to his memorable appearance in TRAINWRECK. In SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY, James must play an interstellar basketball game again a villain (played by Don Cheadle) in order to rescue his son. And of course, his team is comprised of the Looney Tunes characters. In addition to LeBron and Cheadle, the film also stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Zendaya (as the voice of Lola Bunny!), Gabriel Iglesias, Martin Klebba, Cedric Joe, and Nicole Kornet, and the film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee. Check out the trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

When LeBron James and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It’s Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself. The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even ‘King’ James by playing the game their own way.
