Disney’s newest animated featured blends CGI animation with traditional animation style. TANGLED was originally titled RAPUNZEL, which (if ya ask me) would have been a better title, and fallen in line with other Disney classics like SLEEPING BEAUTY and CINDERELLA. To me, TANGLED just sounds odd, and doesn’t really say much toward what the movie is about. Incidentally, this is the 50th animated feature to come out of the mouse house. Mandy Moore voices the female lead, with CHUCK star Zachary Levi voicing the bandit named “Flynn”… no relation to TRON‘s Flynn. The cast also features Donna Murphy, Ron Perlman, Jeffrey Tambor, Brad Garrett, M.C. Gainey, Paul F. Tompkins, and Steve Martin and Ewan McGregor (the last two according to IMDB). The style and look of the film is pretty pleasing, I dare say what could be a new way of making animated films, incorporating the classic hand-drawn sensibilities with CGI animation. Check it out below, and tell us what you think in the comments.
TANGLED opens November 24, 2010

I’m looking forward to it! It looks like a cute movie! And I love that Rapunzel is more of a hard core princess than a girly girl princess! Nice!
