FAST & FURIOUS 9 aka F9 first trailer – Dom’s past has finally caught up with him

Vin Diesel is back. Justin Lin is back. It’s time for yet another FAST & FURIOUS movie, and just when you think things couldn’t get even more crazy… check out the first trailer and get proven wrong. There’s two major reveals here that probably could have been saved for the film, but we’re guessing there’s more in store for audiences this May. When we last saw Dominic Toretto, he had a son with Elena, who died in THE FATE IN THE FURIOUS… leaving Dom to raise the child with Letty, who was previously thought to be dead. The new movie opens with Dom and Letty raising that child, again reinforcing the idea of “family” the franchise is so well known for. Then a new threat shows up, that just so happens to be Dom’s brother (played by John Cena!). The film stars returning cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel and Sung Kang (yay, Han returns!), with Oscar-winner Helen Mirren and Oscar-winner Charlize Theron. F9 also features Grammy-winning superstar Cardi B as new franchise character Leysa, a woman with a connection to Dom’s past, and a cameo by Reggaeton sensation Ozuna. This looks ridiculously silly and over the top, and I can’t wait to watch it.

Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, next year’s The Suicide Squad).

FAST & FURIOUS 9 or F9 opens May 22, 2020
