UNCUT GEMS trailer – Adam Sandler gets serious for the new Safdie Brothers movie

Adam Sandler’s recent films have been a far cry from his early more memorable work, with many going direct to Netflix and quickly forgotten. His newest effort could spark a comeback of sorts, this time working with Josh and Benny Safdie (GOOD TIME), and taking on material that is anything but funny. Some of Sandler’s more serious roles have aged rather well, and the trailer for UNCUT GEMS does look rather promising, so hopefully this one will be a solid entry in Sandler’s career… word has it the end result gets quite violent at times. I wasn’t the biggest fan of GOOD TIME, but that was more because of the characters in it – I will say the movie was directed quite well, and I have been interested to see what the Safdie Brothers would do next. The supporting cast includes Lakeith Stanfield, Julia Fox, Kevin Garnett, Idina Menzel, Eric Bogosian, and the great Judd Hirsch.
