BODY AT BRIGHTON ROCK trailer/poster – get a taste of one of the more intriguing SXSW films

There were a lot of buzzworthy films at this year’s South By Southwest Film Festival, but one that intrigues us is the independent thriller directed by Roxanne Benjamin, titled BODY AT BRIGHTON ROCK. The story revolves around a park ranger new to the scene who finds a body in the wild, and is tasked with staying next to the body until the authorities can arrive… but she may now be in danger, from both people up to no good and a giant bear that’s looming close. Karina Fontes plays Wendy, the park ranger, and carries the tense narrative that’s been getting critical acclaim. Check out the trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Wendy, a part-time summer employee at a mountainous state park, takes on a rough trail assignment at the end of the season, trying to prove to her friends that she’s capable enough to do the job. When she takes a wrong turn and ends up deep in the backcountry, she stumbles upon what might be a potential crime scene. Stuck with no communication after losing her radio and with orders to guard the site, Wendy must fight the urge to run and do the harder job of staying put – spending the night deep in the wilderness, facing down her worst fears and proving to everyone – including herself – that she’s made of stronger stuff than they think she is.

BODY AT BRIGHTON ROCK opens April 26, 2019
