Hayden Christensen and Harvey Keitel are two names you don’t see much in movies these days. The former had a hard time getting work after playing Anakin Skywalker and meeting harsh criticism in the STAR WARS prequels, and the latter… well, I can’t explain why Keitel sort of disappeared, but he does seem to be unfortunately absent from recent cinema. Chances are THE LAST MAN isn’t going to get too much attention, though it does look somewhat interesting as post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi fare. At first I thought this might be a remake of THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, as there are certainly similarities, but it’s more of a “former bad ass has to be a bad ass again” story than anything. I feel bad for Christensen, as he’s capable of doing good work, but the stigma of those prequels has made acting difficult for him in recent years, and most of what he’s done looks a lot like this only with lower budgets. Who knows, maybe this will be a surprise cult classic. The supporting cast includes Marco Leonardi and Columbian actress Liz Solari. Take a look for yourself and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
