Disney’s live action updates of their classic animated films have been wildly successful, and there’s no sign of them stopping anytime soon. Up next is THE LION KING, helmed by director Jon Favreau (who previously did the same with THE JUNGLE BOOK). With a mixture of live action and CGI, the new version brings in a mostly new voice cast (with the exception of James Earl Jones), but brings back score composer extraordinaire Hans Zimmer, and song masters Elton John and Tim Rice who will re-work their classic tunes for the update. The first trailer hit today, Thanksgiving, and it looks rather incredible. In case you’re wondering who is voicing who, you’ve got Donald Glover as Simba, BeyoncĂ© as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa (the one returning cast member from the original), Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, John Kani as Rafiki, John Oliver as Zazu, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, Eric Andre as Azizi, and Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari.
