THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE new trailer – Terry Gilliam’s long-delayed epic is almost here

Sometimes movies take a while to get made… but Terry Gilliam’s THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE has literally taken decades to get done. Previous names that were either attached or rumored included Jean Rochefort, Robert Duvall, Ewan McGregor, Johnny Depp, Vanessa Paradis, Miranda Richardson, Christopher Eccleston, and the late John Hurt. Even Terry’s MONTY PYTHON former cast mate Michael Palin was considered for the Quixote role at one point. It’s gone through many iterations and casting choices, finally landing on Adam Driver and Jonathan Pryce as its two main stars, with a supporting cast that includes Stellan Skarsgård, Olga Kurylenko, Jordi Mollà, Óscar Jaenada and Joana Ribeiero. Even though it’s now finished and said to be ready for release, the film is currently embroiled in a lawsuit that could potentially delay its debut even further. You have to wonder what goes through Gilliam’s head after all this time, and finally completing the movie, to then have it held up even longer. Take a look at the new trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

The Man Who Killed Don Quixote tells the story of a deluded old man who is convinced he is Don Quixote, and who mistakes Toby, an advertising executive, for his trusty squire, Sancho Panza. The pair embark on a bizarre journey, jumping back and forth in time between the 21st and magical 17th century.

THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE is scheduled to debut at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2018
