Watch Steven Spielberg’s READY PLAYER ONE Copper Key Race scene from start to finish

If you haven’t seen Steven Spielberg’s READY PLAYER ONE in theaters yet, there’s still time. One of the best sequences in the film is the Copper Key Race, where several players compete in an effort to get to the finish line first, in what seems to be a nearly impossible challenge. This is also one of the scenes where the film gets to indulge in peppering the screen with recognizable vehicles from classic films and TV shows. Now, thanks to Warner Brothers Japan, you watch the entire sequence online, following a short Japanese commercial. A few cars to look for, outside of the BACK TO THE FUTURE DeLorean, the AKIRA motorcycle, and the Bigfoot monster truck… I spotted Christine from John Carpenter’s CHRISTINE, the Batmobile from the 1966 BATMAN television series, and the Interceptor from MAD MAX… and of course King Kong and the T-Rex from JURASSIC PARK. If you need convincing on why this movie should be seem on a BIG screen, this clip should do the trick.

From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the science fiction action adventure “Ready Player One,” based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller of the same name, which has become a worldwide phenomenon. The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
