AMERICAN ASSASSIN new red band trailer – Michael Keaton teaches Dylan O’Brien to be a killer

With the success of THE MAZE RUNNER movies, and now the upcoming release of AMERICAN ASSASSIN, Dylan O’Brien is very quickly transcending his Teen Wolf image and becoming a bankable movie star. The new movie is based on Vince Flynn’s novel which follows “Mitch Rapp”, an expert in counter-terrorism who wants revenge for the death of his girlfriend. Michael Keaton plays Stan Hurley, who must train Rapp to face ultimate danger. Sanaa Lathan and Taylor Kitsch co-star, and the film is directed by Michael Cuesta, who helmed the criminally under-seen KILL THE MESSENGER. Check out the new 60-second red band trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

American Assassin, directed by Michael Cuesta (‘Kill the Messenger’) follows the rise of Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien), a CIA black ops recruit under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). The pair is then enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Together the three discover a pattern in the violence leading them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a World War in the Middle East.

AMERICAN ASSASSIN opens September 15, 2017
