DEATH WISH trailer/poster – Eli Roth directs Bruce Willis in a violent (maybe comedic?) remake

The 1974 DEATH WISH solidified Charles Bronson as a movie tough guy for the rest of his career, and spawned some sequels to boot. Now Bruce Willis is stepping into his shoes in a remake helmed by Eli Roth, and it looks… odd. I mean, the violence is still there, the basic story is pretty much the same, but the tone of the trailer below almost plays like a comedy. Maybe it’s the AC/DC music, or that last scene in the psychiatrist office, but this definitely gives off a different vibe than the older movies did. Check out the first look below and tell us your thoughts in the comments. Aside from Bruce Willis, the cast also includes Vincent D’Onofrio, Elisabeth Shue, Camila Morrone, Dean Norris and Kimberly Elise. Willis has been doing a lot of direct-to-video flicks lately, so hopefully this will be a return to form for the aging action star. One thing is for sure, Eli Roth knows violence, so we can expect this to have some pretty rough scenes.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures presents director Eli Roth’s reimagining of the classic 1974 revenge thriller DEATH WISH. Fury and fate collide in the intense, action-thriller starring Bruce Willis, Vincent D’Onofrio, Elisabeth Shue, Camila Morrone, Dean Norris and Kimberly Elise. See the first trailer below!
