SDCC 2017: Netflix’s STRANGER THINGS Season 2 “Thriller” trailer is beyond perfect

We’re admittedly a little behind on getting this posted, but it’s still so damn cool we just had to make sure you saw it. STRANGER THINGS became a stellar hit for Netflix, and everyone has been anxiously waiting for a look at Season 2, which now (thanks to San Diego Comic-Con 2017) we finally get… and it’s wonderful. The show was already effectively steeped in 1980s culture, but it’s taken even further with this new trailer, which even makes use of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in a most perfect way. Also look for Don Bluth’s arcade game Dragon’s Lair, a brief shot of GOONIES star Sean Astin, some GHOSTBUSTERS references and more. This may just top the first season if this is any indication. The cast from Season One returns, including David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, and Chelsea Talmadge as Carol. The new faces this season include Dacre Montgomery (POWER RANGERS) as Billy, Sadie Sink as Max, Linnea Berthelsen as Roman, Paul Reiser as Dr. Owens, Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman, Will Chase as Neil Mayfield, and the aforementioned Sean Astin as Bob Newby. Take a look below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

STRANGER THINGS Season 2 premieres on Netflix starting October 27, 2017
