I love Dan Aykroyd.  A few years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Dan backstage at the grand opening of the House of Blues in Dallas, the same time I met Jim Belushi, just before they did their Blues Brothers routine, which brought the house down.  When I first heard about Crystal Head Vodka I was immediately intrigued, not just by the process of how it is made (which is rather extraordinary) but by the overall presentation of it.  The bottle alone is something you’ll definitely want to keep – at least I can’t imagine throwing one away.  This week Aykroyd made a special appearance at select bars in Texas to promote Crystal Head Vodka, including Champps in Irving/Las Colinas, TX.  Just before his arrival at Champps, Dan had made an appearance at Fox and the Hound in Richardson, an equally impressive bar, and one I frequent regularly.  I caught up with the man at Champps, where he tended bar and gave a talk, and got a chance to capture some video of his appearance there so you can see what you missed.  It was very cool watching him take time out to meet the fans, and sign an autograph for every single person who wanted one.  My only regret is not having time to talk about GHOSTBUSTERS 3 with him, which I’m sure is still very much in a holding pattern.  Still, it would’ve been fun to pick his brain about it.  If you listen carefully during the video below, you’ll hear BLUES BROTHERS music playing in the background, which I’m happy to say was going the entire time Dan was there.  I strongly suggest you try Crystal Head Vodka, and tell your friends about it.  It’s every bit as good as the man says.  And if you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, visit either Champps or Fox and the Hound, and tell ’em Mark Walters sent ya.
