You may remember we reported a little over a month ago that Anton Yelchin was cast in the lead for a FRIGHT NIGHT remake.  Well now Deadline is reporting that Colin Farrell (despite an absence from bigger studio films in recent years) has been cast in two different upcoming projects.  First and foremost, he’ll be playing the vampire neighbor in FRIGHT NIGHT, a role made famous in the original by Chris Sarandon.  Craig Gillespie is directing the remake for DreamWorks – based on the cult classic 1985 horror film of the same name, in which a young man begins to suspect his smooth talking (and acting) next door neighbor is a vampire.  Aside from Farrell and Yelchin, it’s said that Toni Collette will also co-star in the project.

After working on FRIGHT NIGHT, Farrell will also star in director Seth Gordon comedy HORRIBLE BOSSES for New Line.  In the film, three friends conspire to murder their awful bosses when they realize they are standing in the way of their happiness.  Paul Rudd is also attached to the project.  Look for Colin next in director Neil Jordan’s ONDINE opening June 4.
