It seems like every decade we get a new Hollywood take on the King Arthur legend, and while some seem to work well others land with a thud. The next attempt comes in the form of KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD, helmed by director Guy Ritchie (SHERLOCK HOLMES). This is also rather ambitious, as it’s said to be the first in an intended six-part film series. The cast includes Charlie Hunnam (SONS OF ANARCHY), Katie McGrath, Jude Law, Hermione Corfield, Annabelle Wallis, Eric Bana, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Aidan Gillen, Djimon Hounsou, and Millie Brady. Take a look at the new trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments. We’re not sure what to make of this. I like Guy Ritchie movies, and it should be interesting to see his take on the Arthur legacy, but the trailers haven’t quite sold me yet… though we expect there will be at least one more trailer before the film hits in May.
Robbed of his birthright, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy – whether he likes it or not.
KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD opens May 12, 2017
