WHY HIM? red band clip – James Franco shows Bryan Cranston & family his new tattoo

The concept of WHY HIM? is a familiar one – the beloved daughter of a wholesome family reveals she’s hooking up with a guy the family isn’t going to like, and said guy tries really hard to win them over. We’ve seen it several times before in movies, but utilizing performers like Bryan Cranston and James Franco makes it a bit fun. The red band clip below should give you an idea of the somewhat raunchy humor you can expect from the film, and just how out there Franco’s character is. Zoey Deutch plays Cranston’s daughter, with Megan Mullally starring as his wife and Griffin Gluck as his son. Adam Devine, Keegan-Michael Key, and Cedric the Entertainer also appear in the comedy, which opens in a few weeks.

Over the holidays, Ned (Bryan Cranston), an overprotective but loving dad and his family visit his daughter at Stanford, where he meets his biggest nightmare: her well-meaning but socially awkward Silicon Valley billionaire boyfriend, Laird (James Franco). The rivalry develops, and Ned’s panic level goes through the roof when he finds himself lost in this glamorous high-tech world and learns that Laird is about to pop the question.

And here’s the latest red band trailer if you haven’t seen it:

WHY HIM? opens December 23, 2016
