T2: TRAINSPOTTING trailer – Danny Boyle brings Ewan McGregor and pals back together

The original TRAINSPOTTING opened twenty years ago, becoming an instant cult classic, and putting actor Ewan McGregor and director Danny Boyle on the map. T2: TRAINSPOTTING brings back the same characters of Renton (McGregor), Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle) for more crazy hijinks… even Diane (Kelly Macdonald) returns. Check out the first full trailer for the film below. I’m interested to see how this does, as it’s a film that speaks to a pretty specific audience, but that cast is much more established now than they were back then, so if nothing else it should be fun to see these characters back together once more. Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

First there was an opportunity……then there was a betrayal.

Twenty years have gone by.

Much has changed but just as much remains the same.

Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.

They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).

Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.

T2: TRAINSPOTTING opens February 3, 2017
