M. Night Shyamalan saw some surprise success working with Blumhouse Productions when he released THE VISIT, which became a found footage horror treat that was fun and funny with just the right amount of disturbing moments. He’s back with another horror film effort called SPLIT, this time with James McAvoy in the lead playing “Kevin”, who is dealing with some pretty bizarre split personalities – 23 to be exact. When he captures and holds three young women (played by Anya Taylor-Joy, Jessica Sula and Haley Lu Richardson), they must figure out if any one of these personalities can help them escape. But hey, this is Shyamalan, so you know there’s going to be a shocking ending. Check out the newest trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

While the mental divisions of those with dissociative identity disorder have long fascinated and eluded science, it is believed that some can also manifest unique physical attributes for each personality, a cognitive and physiological prism within a single being.

Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him—as well as everyone around him—as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

SPLIT opens January 20, 2017
