If you liked Kim Coates on SONS OF ANARCHY, get ready for his upcoming leading role in OFFICER DOWNE. Based on the comic book series by Joe Casey and Chris Burnham, the film has Coates playing a cop gunned down by ruthless criminals who is brought back from the dead by the police, and is now an unstoppable form of justice. Yeah, it’s kind of like ROBOCOP, but think much more twisted and weird. I was actually a fan of the books, and I love Coates, so I can’t wait to see how this came out. The trailer has a fun sort of trashy 1990s feel to it, kind of reminding me of TANK GIRL, which is definitely a guilty pleasure. It’s directed by Slipknot band founder Shawn Crahan and co-stars Sam Witwer, Meadow Williams, Lauren Luna Vélez, Alison Lohman, and Lindsay Pulsipher. Born and raised in Dallas, Mark has been a movie critic since 1994, with reviews featured in print, radio and National TV.
