Disney delivers its first South Pacific princess this November in MOANA, and now we get our first look at the film below. Most of the teaser spotlights Maui, a demi-god voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, but the title character of Moana is voiced by Auli’i Cravalho, a fresh face to the Hollywood scene. This is helmed by Ron Clements and John Musker (the guys that co-directed both THE LITTLE MERMAID and ALADDIN… that’s pretty awesome), and will feature music from Hamilton creator and lead actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is working on the soundtrack with Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina for the soundtrack. The timing of this trailer release is pretty perfect too, since Hamilton dominated the Tony Awards last night. Honestly, this looks pretty great, we’re definitely on board. Check out the teaser below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.
