Video interview with Disney’s ZOOTOPIA directors Byron Howard & Rich Moore

After hosting a big watch party Sunday night (I’m sure you can guess what it was for) while fighting some serious allergies, I lost my voice and was unable to participate in a press tour with ZOOTOPIA directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore, which was particularly upsetting to me as I loved everything about the film. Thankfully my friend and fellow journalist Julie Fisk was able to sit in for me, which is fitting as we sat next to each other during the press screening and laughed our butts off. Disney’s ZOOTOPIA is easily one of the funniest animated films I’ve ever seen, and a nice surprise as it wasn’t on my radar all that much before now. The animated movie follows a world of anthropomorphic creatures trying to co-exist, and injects subtle messages about acceptance, racism, and gender equality without ever feeling forced. Both Howard and Moore come from great backgrounds with animated films, as Byron previously helmed TANGLED and Rich previously directed WRECK-IT RALPH. Check out Julie’s chat with the boys below. Big thanks to her for pinch-hitting on this one, and thanks to the great Grady May for editing the final product.
