There’s been talk for years about the popular DC/Vertigo Comics series PREACHER being brought to either the big or small screen, and more than a few false starts. Now, thanks to Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (oddly enough) we’re finally going to get a televised adaptation of the beloved comic story. AMC unleashed the first trailer last night during THE WALKING DEAD, and you can see it below. Let’s just say this is pretty tame in comparison to the comics, but I’m guessing they’re holding back on some of the more crazy stuff we’ll inevitably see. The series stars Dominic Cooper, Jamie Anne Allman, Thomas Barbusca, W. Earl Brown, Ian Colletti, Joseph Gilgun, Lucy Griffiths, Brian Huskey, Ruth Negga and Elizabeth Perkins. Take a look and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

During tonight’s episode of “The Walking Dead,” AMC launched the world premiere of the trailer for the highly anticipated upcoming series, “Preacher”. Based on the twisted and popular ‘90s comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher,” created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper, Agent Carter) a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun, This Is England) embark on a journey to, literally, find God. The Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production was developed for television by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (“This Is the End,” “Superbad,” “Neighbors”) and showrunner Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”). The series is set to premiere mid-2016.
