BACK TO THE FUTURE’s Marty McFly & Doc Brown stop by Jimmy Kimmel Live… for real

Yesterday was “Back to the Future Day”, celebrating the day in which Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled to the future in BACK TO THE FUTURE II. I actually participated in a special event here in Dallas at the historic Texas Threatre, at which the Alamo Drafthouse’s James Wallace hosted a special watching party for BACK TO THE FUTURE II on the big screen, complete with hundreds of fans in costume, five DeLorean cars, and even an Enchantment Under the Sea dance party. Needless to say there were other places doing their own celebrations, and fans used this as a day to show their love for the franchise. Universal Pictures even released a new Blu-ray set to tie in with the special day. But all of that seems to pale in comparison to last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, in which Michael J. Fox was scheduled to appear. Just before he made his official appearance, Fox showed up as Marty McFly along with Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, entering in a DeLorean time machine, and fully in character. It’s pretty fun stuff, and perhaps slightly sad commentary on what the “future” turned out to be. There’s even a Huey Lewis cameo! This is very likely the closest we’ll ever get to a BACK TO THE FUTURE IV, so savor it. Check out the video below. How did you celebrate your October 21, 2015?
