THE BIG SHORT trailer – Steve Carell, Christian Bale, Brad Pitt & Ryan Gosling bank on fraud

bigshort-header

It’s almost hard to imagine a banking fraud drama that features Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Melissa Leo, Marisa Tomei, and Karen Gillan all together… what a cast! The new movie THE BIG SHORT tells the true story taken from the book by Michael Lewis (MONEYBALL), and it’s directed by Adam McKay (ANCHORMAN), though you might not have placed that last part when looking at the trailer. This almost feels like a slick Martin Scorsese drama not too far in style from THE WOLF OF WALL STREET. Brad Pitt is also producing with Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Arnon Milchan. McKay wrote the screenplay with Charles Randolph. Take a look below and see if you aren’t as intrigued as we are.

When four outsiders saw what the big banks, media and government refused to, the global collapse of the economy, they had an idea: The Big Short. Their bold investment leads them into the dark underbelly of modern banking where they must question everyone and everything. Based on the true story and best-selling book by Michael Lewis (The Blind Side, Moneyball), and directed by Adam Mckay (Anchorman, Step Brothers) The Big Short stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt.

THE BIG SHORT opens December 11 in limited release, wide release on December 23, 2015
