SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE red band trailer and five clips

It seems like zombies are all the rage these days. THE WALKING DEAD is so hot it’s spawning a spin-off series, and even Arnold Schwarzenegger did a zombie flick. There’s really only one direction for the genre to go, and that’s self-parody. It worked before with SHAUN OF THE DEAD and ZOMBIELAND, but the latest film to poke fun at the undead is SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, which stars Tye Sheridan, David Koechner, Cloris Leachman, Halston Sage, Logan Miller, Joey Morgan, and Sarah Dumont. It’s directed by Christopher Landon, and definitely takes a tongue in cheek approach to the familiar concept of zombies. Three scouts must survive the night while fighting off reanimated town folk. They’re joined by a hot cocktail waitress from a strip club, and must get creative to stay alive. There’s no indication in the trailer as to why these four are (seemingly) the only ones not affected yet, but perhaps the film will explain it. Either way, looks like mindless fun. It’s funny to see how fast Tye Sheridan is growing up. I remember interviewing him just a few years ago for MUD and then JOE, and he was still just a kid. You’ll also soon see him in another “apocalypse” film when X-MEN: APOCALYPSE hits next year. SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE opens October 30, 2015.

Three scouts and lifelong friends join forces with one badass cocktail waitress to become the world’s most unlikely team of heroes. When their peaceful town is ravaged by a zombie invasion, they’ll fight for the badge of a lifetime and put their scouting skills to the test to save mankind from the undead.

And here’s five fun clips from the film (basically expanding on scenes in the trailer):
