SDCC 2015: Watch the STAR WARS San Diego Comic-Con sizzle reel… yes, it’s amazing

Usually when new movies are coming out, especially ones that are part of a beloved franchise, the studios will either premiere a new trailer or show a special clip from the film at San Diego Comic-Con as a way of building hype. Disney and Lucasfilm put together a sizzle reel that is a little more special than that. It shows bits and pieces of STAR WARS EPISODE VII: THE FORCE AWAKENS, but it’s mostly a behind the scenes look at the making of the film and those involved. We get shots of Peter Mayhew in and out of the Chewbacca costume, Anthony Daniels putting on his C-3PO costume, our first official glimpse of Carrie Fisher as Leia, and even a shot of Simon Pegg in what looks like a creature costume! It starts with a voiceover by Mark Hamill, and features a few sound bites from Kathleen Kennedy and JJ Abrams… and yes, there is of course a shot or two of Harrison Ford, side-by-side with Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac. This isn’t a trailer, nor is it just a scene from the film, but so much more. It’s a real treat. Watch it below and see if you don’t agree.
