On one day, in one city, the world came together to grant one 5-year-old cancer patient his wish. New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. will release a new documentary that all began with one little boy, Miles, who wished to be the real Batman. Deemed the “wish heard around the world,” Miles’ wish experience in San Francisco went quickly viral, spreading to billions of people around the world. What those billions of people may not have realized is that Miles’ wish is just one of over 14,200 that Make-A-Wish® grants every year to children with life-threatening illnesses, with more than 550 of those right here in North Texas. Make-A-Wish® North Texas will soon grant it’s 9,000th wish since it’s inception in 1982, and continues to rely on dedicated volunteers, generous donors, caring medical professionals and the rest of the surrounding community to continue granting life-changing wishes. Wishes are happening every day, and are as unique as each child who gets to make that wish. From six-year-old Cindy who wished to be an art teacher, to Kaitlyn who wished to meet her favorite pro surfer, or even Charlie who wished to go on an Alaskan Cruise, these wishes are special because they are for children who are living right here in our community.
