I can’t tell you how many times I listened to Alvin and the Chipmunks records when I was a kid, my grandmother probably regrets ever buying them. While I’ve certainly outgrown those fellas, there’s no denying the box office success of the chipmunk trio. Now they’re back on the back screen again, and going on a road trip, in the appropriately named ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP. Walt Becker (who previously gave us VAN WILDER) is the director here, and Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Jesse McCartney are once again doing the voices of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore respectively. And of course Jason Lee is back as their overseer Dave. The supporting cast includes Bella Thorne, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Jesica Ahlberg and Tony Hale. Check out the trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in New York City… and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP hits theaters everywhere December 23, 2015!
