I’ve had the pleasure of moderating two different Q&A sessions with Stephen Amell, the talented star of ARROW on The CW, and I can tell you for a fact he is one of the nicest guys in the business. For some reason he hasn’t made the jump from television to movies just yet, but it seemed like it was only a matter of time. Looks like that day has come. Amell has been cast as Casey Jones in the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES sequel. Variety broke the news, saying Stephen was one of a half dozen actors who read for the role last weekend, and that he scored it due to his chemistry with Megan Fox – that last part leads us to believe he will be a love interest in this story. For those unfamiliar with the character, Casey Jones is a tough guy buddy to the Turtles, known for wearing a hockey mask and carrying a hockey stick as a weapon. Elias Koteas played the role in the 1990 movie, and the character was always a fan-favorite in the comic books. Check out Amell’s Tweet about getting the part:

Dave Green (EARTH TO ECHO) is in the director chair on this one, Michael Bay is producing along with Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, with a screenplay by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec. Jones isn’t the only well known character to appear in the sequel, as it’s been said that Bebop and Rocksteady are rumored to be in the second film as well. Amell’s casting is also in addition to news that Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio will appear in a brief role – she’s filmed with Will Arnett, who returns along with Megan Fox. Rumor has it the sequel will be titled TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2: HALF SHELL, though there’s no confirmation on that yet. Stay tuned as more develops. Are you excited to see Casey Jones in the sequel? Tell us in the comments.
