It seems like every few years we get a movie about a dog that touches our hearts, regardless of whether you’re a pet owner or not. The new Warner Bros. film MAX is based on the real life stories of Marine-trained dogs who go into battle with soldiers. Directed by Boaz Yakin (REMEMBER THE TITANS), this looks like it’s pretty family-friendly, but I must admit even the trailer got me a little choked up. The cast includes Josh Wiggins, Lauren Graham, Thomas Haden Church, Robbie Amell, Luke Kleintank and Jay Hernandez. Check out the first poster and trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
Inspired by true events, Max tells of a military dog that is traumatized after his handler’s death in Afghanistan and is sent home where it is adopted by the bereaved family. He bonds with the soldier’s troubled 14-year-old brother, and together, they begin to heal one another and discover a secret about the soldier’s death.
