Alejandro González Iñárritu‘s BIRDMAN: THE UNEXPECTED VIRTUE OF IGNORANCE is a movie on everyone’s minds for Oscar contention this Sunday, and many feel it’s a safe bet Michael Keaton will take home the Best Actor award. But there’s another Birdman, of sorts, one who has been identified with a bird suit for much, much longer. We’re talking about Caroll Spinney, the master puppeteer and voice of Big Bird. Now Sesame Street has given us what may just be one of the best parodies ever made with BIG BIRDMAN: THE UNEXPECTED VIRTUE OF ORANGE PANTS. If you haven’t seen BIRDMAN yet, this may be lost on you, but for those who get it this is quite brilliant. The possible psychic powers, the handheld camerawork, the walking through hallways, it’s all pretty dead on. Spinney is one of those guys I’m hoping I get to meet before I die, and this just makes that desire even stronger. Check it out below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

For your Oscar consideration: A veteran puppeteer, who plays an avian icon, battles his ego and attempts to find his way back to a certain furry and friendly street. This is ‘Big Birdman.’
